Everything would be very straightforward if cats could talk and explain their pains. This would make early detection of illnesses much easier and it would avoid later complications.<\/p>

Cats are solitary in nature, and showing signs of illness renders them vulnerable to their rivals and predators. This means that, unlike dogs, they tend to hide and not show their weakness and discomfort.<\/p>

Because of all this, it is important and necessary for you to observe their behaviour on a daily basis and notice if any of their behaviours have changed.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

SPOTTING THE ILLNESS<\/strong><\/p>

What symptoms can you see? Your poorly cat may stop eating, playing and grooming themselves, their fur may become opaque and look unkempt. If you suspect that your cat may be ill, follow your intuition and don\u2019t doubt it: go to your trusted vet so that they can examine your cat and decide what treatment to follow.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

BLAND FOOD<\/strong><\/p>

When a cat becomes unwell, their desire to eat reduces and even goes away completely. For this reason you should offer them food that is not hard to chew, that is bland, soft and more palatable. To this effect, wet foods may be of great help. There are also vitamin and mineral concentrates in pastes that can help them to recover.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

Whilst they are unwell, your cat should drink plenty of fresh water. If they refuse, it is advisable that you administer it yourself using a syringe. Repeat this every fifteen minutes or half hour: you will be ensuring that they do not get dehydrated. In fact, for this there are certain special salts that you can ask your vet for, to add to the water that your cat is drinking.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t
